"Tweet Scan's fab"

Saturday 10 November 2007 - Filed under Default

So say the folks over at Real Fresh TV.

Since we’ve just gotten started it’s obviously an honor to be mentioned positively so early in our evolution. It’s our goal to be the best Twitter Search Engine out there and we look forward to user feedback that will help us make an impact on the Social Networking and Twitter scene.

If you’d like to try it out, go to tweetscan.com. There you can search public Twitter posts in real time and sign up for email alerts for the searches that matter to you.

    TweetScan looks pretty nice 🙂

The alerts being sent via e-mail is nice, but having the ability to receive updates of the post via RSS (similar to Terraminds) would be fantastic (though I am not sure the server load this creates).

Cheers, will be looking forward to the updates you make 🙂

Yes, we do RSS too. Just click on the RSS link after you do a search. I would also direct you to the tweetscan blog at tweetscan.blogspot.com for further updates.

Ive been enjoying tweetscan and found it a eminently usable product, until this week.

It appears that its possible to create accounts on twitter which simple refeed twitter the feeds from other twitter users. Effectivly increasing the volume of twitters from a number of twitter accounts.

The impact is that on searching for myself or other tweets those accounts are getting restated in tweetscans search making the result page a little unusable.

Its utterly not yours or twitters “fault” or “problem”.

Are you able from the twitter API to determine whom we have blocked and remove those accounts from the list ? it would fix that imbalance and return the tool to a more usable state.

Thank you for writing and hosting it though. Youve been a big help.
