Time is an investment. Go slow to go far. This piece started with simple objects and several quick sketches, and became an exploration of technique and vision. While each session brought a little more into view, I feared the adjustments would be endless. Now I can appreciate it as it is.

This is the third guided project in my exploration of oil painting. The symmetry and reflections in the black ceramic vase increased the difficulty, while the greens of the bowl were a pleasure to mix and apply. Eggshells made for a stark contrast of light, edge and curve. Don’t ask what happened here. It’s clearly a setup, but one in which I hope you find as much beauty as I do.
