The present comes out of the past.

For this piece I wanted to create a scene out of printed objects, bringing together recent study of painting, and a decade of experience modeling 3d objects.
The object on the left was modeled after a pear: the first thing I ever painted. I chose colors for the prints with knowledge that like the apartment scene in Godard’s Contempt (1963) the work is first painted by the subjects we choose.
I attempted to apply everything I’ve learned in class, but ran into some unknowns as well, like how multiple shadows interact and… sometimes you don’t know what you’ve captured until you take a step back.
